Contemporary Politics of Dirty Harry!
The contemporary politics reminds me of Dirty Harry! For people, who are not familiar with Harry Callahan, he is a cop having his own violent ways to stop crime. Those ways, from a rational view, are merely meaningless. Here are some quotes;Harry Callahan: Well, when an adult male is chasing a female with intent to commit rape, I shoot the bastard. That's my policy.
The Mayor: Intent? How did you establish that?
Harry Callahan: When a naked man is chasing a woman through an alley with a butcher's knife and a hard-on, I figure he isn't out collecting for the Red Cross! [walks out of the room]
The Mayor: He's got a point.
(Turkay: No he hasn't; how often can you find such a clear case? It is not that cheap to kill another person by merely relying on the professional insticts. Besides, what if I am another Callahan who saw him shooting somebody naked. I have to shoot him as well, and somebodyelse will shoot me. A reasonable massaccare!)
Another one;
DA Rothko: ...What I'm saying is that man had rights. (referring to a suspect from whom Callahan had beaten a confession)
Harry Callahan: Well I'm all broken up over that man's rights. [Referring to the illegal search and torture]
(Turkay: It reveals itself I guess)
